Friendly, Pet-Quality Mice!

Longfeather Lane's mousery produces large, soft mice with outstanding temperament. Our mice often grow to nearly double the size of pet-store fancy mouse, and have been selected across generations to have gentle dispositions- great for handling, even by small children!

Unlike a mouse tamed through excessive handling, our mice are only handled briefly at cage change time. This helps us to select only the most human-forward mice- the ones that run closer instead of away! It also means that "what you see is what you get" - your mice won't lose their "tameness" just because you don't handle them for a little while. They'll always be just as friendly and ready to interact as the day you first held them.

Due to our ethics regarding mouse social needs, we do not sell male mice as pets. Ever. This is a blanket rule we have had for over 20 years of breeding mice. Humans simply cannot (regardless of the amount of handling) meet the social needs of a single mouse, male mice cannot be reliably homed together long term (as the potential for injury is too high), we do not condone breeding accidentally via trying to pair house with a doe, and most domestic ASF rats are carrying RPV. It is not fair to mice to deprive them of basic socialization needs in order to have a cute pet. This is also why we rarely sell single does, and never without proof of an established mischief or otherwise waiting companion mouse.

If you are a BREEDER looking for a 1.1 or 1.2 group, please e-mail me with your mousery details to discuss.

At the moment, the mousery side of our farm has been scaled back to maintenance on just the self blacks and blue tricolor/splashes. We will only infrequently have mice for sale, and ONLY through our mailing list.

The mice on this page are NOT FOR SALE. If you are looking to purchase mice from us, please sign up for our mailing list! As of 12/1/25, ALL mouse sales will be through our mailing list ONLY.

Our Varieties

Self Black

Our self-black line was originally developed to assist in outcrosses for our other (now defunct) lines. Over the years, I fell in love with the line I had carefully crafted out of plain feeder stock, and so even when I closed down the rest of the mousery, the self blacks remained. They are SO sweet and SO beautiful, I could not let them go entirely. I will have them in limited availability through the mailing list only.

If you are a BREEDER looking for a 1.1 or 1.2 group, please e-mail me with your mousery details to discuss.

Look how sweet they are!! Enjoying some pets!
