Meet Our Pets!
Some of our birds are non-breeding for one reason or another. These birds are not for sale, but are instead our beloved pets that we keep for the joy of it!
The Ladies
Amber (Bug)
Amber, or as we call her "Bug," was hatched on site in 2023. Her mother was Aurora, and her father was Poppa P, who was here visiting for stud service. Due to the sex-linked nature of the breeding, we knew Bug was a girl from the moment she hatched, so we ended up hand raising her indoors. Bug and I spent most days lounging outside in the sun and grass with the rest of the flock, so that she could learn to be a bird. As a yearling, she lives with Stella and Earl, but she still loves people and will come to hang out as soon as she sees us. Due to her friendly nature and ease of handling, I hope to be able to pick up Artemis P. Fowl's torch, and continue offering peafowl paintings!
Eris
Eris is a purple hen who carries blackshoulder and a leucistic gene and she identifies as a menace to society. She came to us in 2020, along with her brother, Lazuli, whom we passed to another farm a few years later. Eris is hands down the smartest bird we own- upon her arrival, we began introducing communication buttons to her, which she picked up lightning fast and used to ask for the treats she wanted, to argue with me, and to make fun of me. The buttons were removed when she moved from her baby pen to one of the big aviaries, but she continues to have a lot of opinions. Her father was Indie/Poppa P, a purple blackshoulder directly from the farm of late Burt "Deerman." Bug is her half-sister!
