Frozen Feeder Quail

We do not ship feeders! These are available locally only.

Got a hungry reptile, amphibian, dog, cat, bird-of-prey, or other whole-prey-eating pet at home that could use some fresh variety in their diet? We've got you covered! We have frozen stock on hand, and can do pre-paid pre-orders for larger needs!

Unlike some places that sell chicks they find randomly dead of unknown causes, all of our frozen chicks were purpose-bred to be food, humanely culled while healthy, and immediately frozen, so that quality and freshness can be assured. We do local pickup near the farm.

To schedule a pre-order or select from our current stock, you can contact us!
If you'd like to be notified when a group of quail has been freshly frozen, you can sign up for the mailing list!

Pricing

  • Day-old chicks - $1/chick (comparable to a 10-12g mouse*) or 20 flat-pack for $15.
  • 3-day-old chicks - $1.25/chick (12-20g mouse*) or 16 flat-pack for $15.
  • 1wk-old chicks - $1.25/chick (20-35g mouse*) or 14 flat-pack for $15.
  • 2wk-old chicks - $1.50/chick (36-65g mouse/rat fuzzy*)
  • 3wk-old chicks - $1.50 (comparable to a 66-85g weanling rat*)
  • Larger Sizes may be arranged.
For reference, a 2-week-old quail chick is about the same size as a day-old chicken chick.
If you are looking to buy stock at wholesale, please contact us! We would prefer to sell everything at once to a wholesaler.

*Please bear in mind that while the weights are similar, birds have hollow bones that make them bigger at the same weight, and a keel that makes them a broader prey item than a rodent of similar weight. For animals that swallow their prey whole, consider going down a size from what you normally feed.

Live Butcher/Feeder Quail

Please see our available live quail page for information about purchasing live quail. We do not offer live food birds separately from normal live sales, but we don't mind our live birds going as food (they are egg AND meat birds, after all). However, if you are looking to buy live bird for eating (yourself or for pets), please let us know when you order so that we can pull them from the normal/wild color birds over the fancy colored mutations people prefer as pets. You're more likely to get a meatier bird this way!
