Available Live Quail

Due to unreliable shipping times and unpredictable conditions, we will not ship live animals.
All live birds are local pickup only in Belleville, MI, or at MBGBA swap meets.

How Do Sales Work?

BIRDS
We do sell live birds locally from our farm in person, and at MBGBA bird swaps. These birds are ones hatched and raised indoors for the first two weeks, and grown out in the barn afterward. Most of them will be birds we know we don't need, as they are simply the wrong color for our project. We are transparent about when we sell retiring breeders, so you know when you are getting older or younger birds.

Day-old to Subadult Chicks

All of our live birds are local pickup only in Belleville, MI, or at any Michigan Bird and Game Breeder's Association swap meet via prior arrangement.

Sales are arranged through the mailing list ONLY. You can sign up for our mailing list to be notified when new chicks hatch, and when older chicks become available.

Feather-Sexable Celadon Chicks
These celadon chicks will be roux pharaoh or wild type. They are able to be sexed at 2.5-3 weeks of age (which is incredibly rare for celadons, which are mainly found in EB varieties only). These will be available in limited quantity in the spring of 2026.

Unsexed chicks - $5 + $1/week of growth (until they can be sexed, between 2 and 3 weeks old)

EB CELADON CHICKS
These celadon chicks will be het or homo EB ("rosetta" or "tibetan"), and may carry fawn or sparkly. They are UNABLE to be feather sexed, and so are sold straight run only.

Unsexed chicks - $3 + $1/week of growth

Other chicks

Brown-egg chicks will be sold at $2/chick + $1/week of growth.

Roux hen chicks from our sex-linked pen will be $6 until 2+ weeks of age (then they will be the same as sexed hens). These are for-sure hens that can be sexed at hatch due to how sex-link colors work.

Sexed/Adult Quail

Birds with the extended brown gene cannot be sexed until after 10 weeks old, and are unlikely to be sold as adults unless they are retiring.

All 2025 birds will be tagged with their parent cage color band. Click here to see band colors.

You can sign up for our mailing list to be notified when older birds become available. We send an e-mail when new chicks are hatching, when breeders are retired for younger birds, and when holdbacks become available post breeder selection.

SEXED/ADULT CELADONS
Homozygous Males - $10/bird
Homozygous Hens - $15/bird
Unsexed EB Homozygous 6+ weeks - $8/bird

BBQ Special - $3/roo - Sold Out
